What formats do you convert?

  • We accept only VHS, VHS-C, 8mm (also known as Video8), Hi8, Digital8 and MiniDV tapes.
  • We can also duplicate camcorder-size DVDs and non-copy protected full-size DVDs.
  • We only convert the formats listed above. We no longer do film conversions. We do not transfer videotape-based HD formats, Beta, broadcast-format tapes, full-sized DV, audio tapes, reel to reel, vinyl or DVDs with copy protection.
  • We don't buy VHS tapes.

What does it cost?

We provide two unique services. Videotape to DVD...

  • Your video is converted for the low price of $9 per tape.
  • Additional copies get cheaper the more you buy. 1-5 copies are $5 each. See the price chart at the bottom of the page for larger quantities. Copies are priced by the total number of extra copies you order (not extra copies per tape).
  • Up to two hours fits on a DVD. If your tape is longer than that, every additional two hours is an extra $4.
  • We offer PAL (United Kingdom) and SECAM format VHS tape transfer for $20 per tape (up to 4 hours). Please check the FAQ page for more details on this service.
  • Cost is per tape, not per DVD. Combining several short tapes on one DVD is still charged the $9 per tape rate.
  • Duplicating camcorder-size DVDs or non-copy protected full-size DVDs is $5 per copy.
  • There is a $25 minimum order for same-day/while-you-wait transfers.

Or Videotape to Video Files...

  • Your video is converted to H.264 computer video files, playable and editable on any Mac or PC.
  • Conversions are $9 per tape (any length--no two hour limit).
  • You must supply a flash drive or USB hard drive with enough space for your transfers. Plan on 1-1.5 GB of space per hour.

Sounds great! Now what?

  • For DVD orders, print out a copy of our order form, so we know how to label your DVD. This is professionally printed right on the DVD--no stick-on labels! You also have the option to write directly on your tapes, or we can use any existing labeling.
  • You will be asked to sign our Limited Liability Agreement before we can accept your tapes. It's on Page 2 of the order form. Click here to read it.
  • Turnaround time for small orders is usually a few days. Large orders may take a bit longer. Please inquire about our current turnaround time. We try to accommodate all requests.
  • We accept cash, check and credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express). To pre-pay with PayPal, click here.
  • Have more questions? The answer is probably listed on our Frequently Asked Questions page.

Where are you located?

  • We operate by appointment only, as we aren't always in the office, so please contact at (317) 721-6772 before stopping by. Feel free to text us! Or email us at
  • We have a secure mailbox by our entrance for drop-offs and pick-ups. Be sure to print and include our order form if you're dropping off.
  • We can also do your transfer by mail for an additional shipping cost. Mail items and our order form to 2305 Broadway Street, Indianapolis, IN 46205. Include an email address, and we'll invoice you when your order is complete.

Other Services

  • We will keep an archive copy of your DVD at our office for an additional $9 per tape. Copies can then be ordered from this archive at any time for $5 per copy, which we will mail to you at no extra cost.
  • We can transfer footage from hard drive camcorders or cell phones to DVD, but this service is billed differently based on your situation.
  • Zach Rosing Productions offers short-run DVD duplication up to 500 copies. Clamshell cases are included in the price for orders of 50 or less. Prices for B&W disc printing and duplication are as follows:

1-5 Copies 6-20 21-30 31-50 51-100 101-250 251-500
$5 $3 $2.75 $2.50 $2.25 $2 $1.75

The Fine Print...

If your tape is broken/breaks in our machine (snaps loose from its reel), there is a $5 charge to fix it.

We can convert camcorder-size DVDs to full-sized DVD discs, but only if you've finalized the disc on your camcorder. Consult your user manual (or bring the camcorder with you).

Due to copy protection signals on the tape, we cannot convert most commercially purchased tapes (movies, exercise videos, etc.)

This is an automated process. Out-of-the-ordinary requests may be priced differently.

We do not provide technical support for ripping DVDs to video files (that's why we offer non-DVD transfer options).
